My Place And Yours :: Blog Headquarters ::

I am so thrilled of being this week's Theme Queen for Pip's meme, "My Place And Yours"!!!

So, this week's theme will be: Blog Headquarters! show us the place where you spend your internet time, from where you are reading this post right now!

here's about mine: I have two screens because my laptop one broke, so I just put that nice sticker of the smiley face from kakaoboys :)
things that I have always at hand:  a band meter with inches/cm for measuring things for the shop, my favorite mug filled with coffee or ginger tea or miso soup, hand creme, rubber stamps... I have to admit that usually it is all a bit messier that this ;)
both me and my boyfriend we work from home, and so we spend most of our time in this livingroom, that has been tranformed in what we call "our headquarters"...

so, get crazy with it, can't wait to see your posts, if you want to play along just read about it here and wait for pip's post to add your link

surprises! (blankets II) (or: My Place and Yours :: Bedside ::)

I think this is my contribution for this week "My Place and Yours" meme started by PipPottymouthmama chose "Bedside" as this week's theme!
at first I was surprised because I was really thinking of  posting some pictures  concerning this theme even before, (you  may have a look at my bedside table just on the previous post!), and so I didn't know what to post now, eheheh... so  I am showing you  these two pictures to give you an idea of where I sleep :) I just made this double sided duvet, the day before yesterday! it feels so nice sleeping under the soft cozyness of a duvet made with my favorite  fabrics!  and switching sides every day, uh!

but the biggest surprise was another one: guess who is going to be next week's Theme Queen? yep, that's me, hooray! I have a couple ideas, but we'll see what I'll come up with, there is still one week!

another couple of things that are bed or bedside related:
I have a tiny personal photographic project over at flickr, it's called "The Flying Couch Project" and it's about taking pictures of places where I sleep when I am not at home...nothing fancy, but it's just a collection that reminds me of the (sometimes)weirdest sleeping solutions and of the nice people that gave me a place to rest a bit when I am travelling (or mostly touring with my boyfriend)

the other thing is that in the last days I've been quite obsessed with alcove beds.  aren't they the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about the word "cozy"? I mean the real ones, almost like sleeping in a closet...sigh... sooner or later I will have  to have one :)

here's one I wouldn't say no to... found it here, from marieclairemaison

have a nice weekend!

Some New Friends

look what I found on the street this afternoon! Germano The Monkie! isn't he one of the best thing that you can find when looking on the ground? Big Score for me! hooray.

yesterday I made another duvet cover for my bed, with a big patchwork of some of my favorite  fabrics...I will manage to take better pics tomorrow, the light is getting dimer and dimer everyday, and from this weekend it would be even worst...sigh...

lately I am reading King Solomon's Ring by Konrad Lorenz, a really pleasant book that is the perfect thing to read before turning off the lights and going to sleep (I only read in bed...)...I like so much how it is affecting my dreams... of flying and talking with animals...when I was a little kid I often made believe that I had a bird friend that was following me around in every place, and that there was a very special relationship between us... when I was about 6 years old I asked santa claus to bring me  a little monkey, a TRUE one... and probably all this has something to do with what I make today, eheh...

My Place And Yours :: On The Shelf ::

here's my contribution to to Pip's new meme!
this week's theme is "on the shelf" and everyone who wants to get involved may sign up at her blog and post a picture of the current theme
seems like a fun appointment to have every week, and I am curious to see how it will involve the people who wants to play along. Pip is a cornucopia of nice ideas, and I am sure that with this meme I will have  a lot of new favorite blogs to add to my list :)

my picture is taken in the studio where I sew,  it's the shelf of my fabric's cabinet.
they are little objects found at flea markets in berlin :)

home alone

yep, 4 days at home all by myself, the copilot is on a short tour in italy... feeling kind of lonely, but so I may leave all my yarn and needles around, ah!  (or, at least, MORE than I usually do...)
the pictures are from the last couple of days... there is that new bow tie with pom poms in the shop!
head buzzing with tons of tiny little projects for the next wintery months..I will be part of two collective exhibitions in the States in november: Small Stuff 3 at Bear and Bird gallery in Florida, and Luv-able & Hug-able at Gallery Hanahou in New York, yay!!! I am so excited about those things...
AND: Plush You is TODAY!! I am so impatient, I hope that someone will post some picture of the show as soon as possible, come on!!! :)
today I went to a newly opened  place, Cafè Vux, in Neukolln: it is a vegan brasilian inspired cafè!
I tried the Smoky Habanero bagel, a light and juicy snack ... after it I was too full, but next time I will surely try something from their vegan sweets choice, like waffles with hot cherries,  rose and pistachio cupcakes,  the mango/coconut belly, make yourself a bothie! (awkward translation from an italian saying)
go check it out!

I hope you all had a nice weekend! Mine has been awesome,  saturday  I worked on some new Les Monstris and sunday we went out for a walk toward Treptower Park, it was a very windy day and so there were a lot of people playing with kites and also a lot of acorns on the ground! we walked through the Soviet War Memorial and then passed near the boat houses...
lately I am really into baking, the other day I finally tried the recipe  for Celine's Lemony French Cake and it turned out so yummy that I didn't have the time to take a picture of it!! I will be making it again this week I think!
