1, 2, 3, go!

my new favorite shirt (thrifted!)

summer street flowers

west german pottery collection

work in progress

I like it when I spontaneously wake up early and spring out of bed with with my head buzzing with ideas and  thoughts of things to make and do!!! this morning it worked like that and I hope I'll be able to make the best of it!
I will be finishing the three pieces you see in the "work in progress" pic, then they will fly to Los Angeles at Munky King Gallery for the Plush You exhibition!! wo-hooooooo!
Then I will work on some custom orders for a friend, and later work out a little bit  on the  vintage shop idea, looking for a nice bright spot for taking pictures (I will probably have to move some furniture around my studio). As you may see in the third picture I've been collecting some beautiful west german pottery, also known as fat lava vases. I am doing some research and I am very fascinated by the variety of shapes and surfaces, textures  and colors. We'll see in the next weeks what I'll come up with...

as promised the other day here is today's creature, Duccio Von Stanley, now in the shop!
now I'd better stop or I'll never be able to do all these things in one day... 1, 2, 3,  go!

old me

Today I wanted to share with you some of these pictures of my childood...
the first one was taken by me when I was about 8 or 10 years old... oh, how many hours I spent playing with them :)
in the second one I am in my grandma's garden holding a rather hypnotized Gnambu, my beloved first cat
in the last one, at 5 years old, I am proudly wearing my mickey mouse sweat shirt. My father used to crop my bangs...not very professionally, as you may notice, eheh :)
Today I still have that same "curl" always popping up under my right ear...

I am working out this idea in my mind: opening a vintage online shop so that I can have an excuse to go hunting all those little things that I love... not such an original idea, I am aware of that, but I already have a small collection of german things that I can't wait to show you...we'll see... I still need to figure out many things...
now I am going out to eat some good viet food and later at the ping pong bar in Kreuzberg (can't find any link...)

Rainy Days

Chaney Boogaloo

Armando, Abel and Duccio

We are having a glimpse of ending summer here, and I (almost) enjoy staying at home working on some of the many things that are crowding my head...
I liked so much the colors of the cassettes up there that I had to take a picture! I am working for Mr. C today, sewing felt sleeves for his tapes label called TULIP RECORDS!!!
Then then you may see the lasts Les Monstris I've been working on these days... Abel, Gino and the Radetsky are in my shop now, while the blonde Armando and the flying Chaney Boogaloo will be available at a shop in Italy that will be opening in September :)

here are some random links I've enjoyed today:

have a nice weekend!

Back on the tracks

It's being a busy period, which makes me quite happy and active around the  apartment like a little bee. There's been the Sunday Market who was ok, we had a nice spot near the stage and around us there was a very nice atmosphere.
Then in the past days I've been working on  some custom orders, and on some new pieces that will be added in the shop in the next days :)
For today I am glad to present you these two new creatures : Panzer and Amandine! I love how the last picture turned out, it looks almost as a polaroid, don't you think?

Happy summer news

Jimmy Peppermint is in the shop!

...I've got so many nice things happening these days!!
I am working on some creatures and accessories that will be with me and my friend Bera at the Newkoelln Flowmarkt next Sunday!
Bera just moved to Berlin last week, and I am very happy to have her so much closer, 'cause when you live in a foreign city one of the things that you miss mostly is old times friends, and we've been knowing each other for something like 10 years now, plus I am excited to have her as a partner in business for markets and 4 hands projects such as the Von Racletten Family (she drew and screenprinted their faces!)
another happy thing is that I asked Eva of  Misako Mimoko if she wanted to trade one of her great tiny fake watches for one of my Radetskies, and she was happy to do that, YAY! this bracelet is a very clever and naive idea, and developed so nicely...  and Eva is amongst the artists that will appear, with me, in this book that will be out in october: INDIE CRAFT, curated by Jo Waterhouse and Faythe Levine!!!! so excited about that!

UH, Today I've made the NINON facebook fan page, go check it out and LIKE IT if you like it ;)

As you can see from the pictures, he as a bow tie brooch that you can borrow from him and put it on... wathever you want! Tomorrow I will be ready to post also a blue bear!

it's going to be very hot today!! I've just had my favorite thing for breakfast, which is vanilla soy yogurt with crunchy almond granola and fresh red currant, mmmh... now I am ready to sew a bit, I am finishing the last details of some new creatures that will be part of this exhibition that will take place in  August at the Bear and Bird Gallery in Florida:

I am so very excited about it!
